Big Wave Cafe

This place was a great find from Trip Advisor. Dinner was expertly prepared and service was friendly and attentive. The price was very reasonable since there is so much bad expensive food in Kihei. We had the fresh catch of the day and pork tenderloin. Entrees were $17-$25 and well worth the price. You won't be disappointed at Big Wave.

I was in Maui for my honeymoon 8/29/06 and this place was recommended by our hotel. My husband and I went there for breakfast and we sat outside. Our waitress was very friendly and quick to greet us. I ordered half a papaya, The Big Stack (2 macadamia nut pancakes) with coconut syrup and a mimosa. The don't call it the Big Stack for nothin'! It was so delicious! My husband got a mango smoothie and the biscuits and gravy. Both our meals were excellent and his biscuits and gravy were actually the best I've tasted so far. Portions were big and neither of us could finish our meals. So stuffed! We were so pleased with our meals that we came back the next day for breakfast. I ordered the biscuits and gravy this time and one of those smoothies. This was a great casual dining experience and it's too bad I can't find a place like this back home. Two thumbs up!

Pros: Food, service, atmosphere

Cons: No view. Just of the parking lot and South Kihei Road.

A new favorite: My co-workers and I love to go here when we go out to lunch together. I just recently had breakfast here and was very satisfied.

They have both outside and inside seating. The outside is shaded and always has a nice breeze.

There is plenty of variety in the menu and each dish I have had has always been delicious. Prices are competitive to similar restaurants, and they always have a special for breakfast that goes until lunch.

The restaurant is always clean and peaceful, but they share a bathroom with the rest of the building.

Service is always good. They don't leave you hanging and at the same time don't hover.
